Jah Rico Reggae
Jah Rico whose real name is Frederick A. Reid, also known as Yahraka was born in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, on January 4, 1972, to parents Joseph Reid and Beverly Edwards. He came into being to spread the message of love through music, to heal everyone who hears his musical messages.
He was educated at the Hampstead Basic School and Hampstead All Age School, close to Port Maria, St. Mary, Jamaica. It was during this stage of his life he discovered his passion for singing. He started singing when he was about 7 years old, and has been doing music professionally, since 2012.
Jah Rico realized that he could write his own songs when he was about 20/21 years old. This happened when he saw one of his cousins writing songs. He told himself that he can do it and so he began practicing. He has never stopped since then, and now he is writing the positive messages he sings to heal the heart and soul of others.
When Jah Rico is not focusing on writing or producing positive and entertaining music, he is working on his other passions which includes landscaping. He is the owner of F.A.R LANDSCAPING, where he operates as an outstanding and creative gardener/landscaper.
Anyone who knows Jah Rico will tell you that his soul is always filled with joy and laughter. It is no wonder he chose to be a professional musician and landscaper. He is always singing, writing songs and laughing. He often says that his love for music and singing is like having a conversation with the Almighty, a sister or brother.
Though he was born in Spanish Town, he grew up in St. Mary and later moved to Barrett Town, just outside of Montego Bay in St. James. Jah Rico frequently performed in and around Barrett Town and Club Inferno Montego Bay, while living in Jamaica.
