Jah Rico’s Story and New Album Deeper!

Jah Rico is an outstanding and humble human being, who has made it his mission to use his writing and singing talent to empower people who will hear his music. In a conversation with the artiste, he shares his story and tells us about his latest project – Deeper

JAH RICO’S STORY!

I am Frederick Reid aka Jah Rico, a conscious reggae music artiste, who was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. I grew up in the parishes of St. Mary and St. Catherine, Jamaica and later relocated to Barret Town in St. James, just outside of Montego Bay. While still living in St. Mary with my beautiful grandma, at about 6 years old I realized that I had a melodious singing voice. Thanks to my grandma who encouraged me to sing while doing my chores to get rid of lazy feelings. *LOL* My grandma was great!!

As the years progressed, I developed into a singer and songwriter who embraces the beauty of all of Life’s Creation. I feel that the rhythms of our hearts carry the light of our souls. Therefore, my mission is to share the message of those blessings with people of all races, as a messenger of the heart.

I now reside in Massachusetts, USA, where I continued my music journey. Since living in the USA, I have performed with the High Hopes Band, the Dis N Dat Band and also with the Griot Family out of Brooklyn, New York.

To date I have released a number of singles which include; Higher Meditation, Enough for Us All, Can’t Stop Now, which were produced by Lights Dove Production and Light It Up, which was produced by Dis N Dat Productions.

My most recent single is titled “World Tyranny”. The song speaks about the ongoing suffering of the people, due to the 20/20 pandemic and lock down across the world. World Tyranny has been added to playlists on many radio stations and I am grateful for that. I am also grateful to my fans who stream World Tyranny online and have also been viewing the official video that was uploaded to YouTube recently.

DEEPER EP ALBUM

On November 28, I released my first album, which is titled DEEPER; a six track EP, which includes:

Deeper, the title track which was written to inform those who will listen that I am more than just flesh and blood. I am a spiritual multidimensional being having a physical experience.

Next track on the EP is ‘To The River’. In this song I am asking the Universe to take me to the river of love for consciousness and self-awakening.

‘Youths Dem Lost’ is a song that I did to reach our youths with who are lost in this materialistic world. How I see the world today is that many people minds are not opened, they are lost within a deeper illusion.

I wrote ‘Giwi The Strength’ because it takes great strength to face what is really going in the world. Children are missing and dying. This is about opening our spiritual eyes to the truth.

Speak Change is dedicated to the change we all need, a change from all the madness that going on this beautiful Divine Mother Earth. Mother Goddess of all mothers, too much human destruction in the world!

I couldn’t complete the EP without a special song for the ladies *Smile* – Oh It’s You is dedicated to all the beautiful Goddesses in the world!

As long as I am breathing, I will make music that uplifts and informs. Music that radiates the depths of the human heart. In so doing, I will spread my musical message globally, to reach as many as possible in my travels.
